Sustainability

We borrow the world from our children

At Pea we are committed to looking after the planet as much as people. Sustainability matters. That’s why it is important to us that you know how we do this.

Carbon Footprint

We care about how far our products travel, that's why every single one is manufactured in the EU. Our bedding sets are hand made in a family-run textiles factory in northern Portugal. All other products are made in the UK with the exception of our wooden picture frames and storage crates which come from the EU.

Product Life

We design and manufacture high quality products that are designed to last. Our products are manufactured and ordered in small quantities to ensure we do not over produce. That’s why if demand is high, from time to time, a product may be sold out, but we’ll email you as soon as it is back in stock.

Textile Production

We make all our kids bedding sets with 100% percale cotton. And we’re proud to say they carry Oeko-Tex Standard 100, a worldwide certification system proving they are free from harmful chemicals or hazardous substances.

Recyclable Packaging

We work hard to make sure our packaging is recyclable whilst protecting your orders at the same time. All our wall art products are shipped in biodegradable bags and our picture shelves are wrapped in green biodegradable bubble wrap. At present our bedding sets come from the factory in a protective plastic wrapping (as our only use of plastic packaging) before being placed in a reusable Pea 100% cotton drawstring bag. As part of our environmental commitment we are working with our factory to eliminate this.

People Matter

We carefully select our factories and work hand-in-hand with them to promote strong partnerships. We ask that they sign our Supplier Manual conform to our Code of Ethical Conduct, based on an internationally recognised set of labour standards to drive improvements in working conditions around the world, which ensures that their staff's environmental, ethical and social needs are upheld and protected. They also help us fulfil our obligations under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 in order that we provide a consistently safe product.

At Pea we are always working hard to make improvements and come up with new initiatives to improve and evolve our sustainability so watch this space.
